Storm keeps saying she is going to revamp the site, but since she is currently busy with a bunch of projects, this one gets sidelined. And she won't let ME do it.
I tried a bunch of different colors, and the ones that I liked didn't show up, and the ones that did show up were too -- girlie.
Any suggestions?

Oh sure, Meg, but that is only because it's big! If I put it in small type it sort of wavers at your eyes and makes you think you're drunk. Very annoying. Unless of course, you are drunk (well, not you you, but ya know, the universal "you") and then well, all bets are off!
Actually, the main paragraph font is good - soft but very readable- not glaring.
I think that's my vote too, Selkie. The red looks like a blinking light! WAY too hard to read. And yes (Finn), if I ever redesign the site, it won't be an issue.
I am very partial to the gray myself...but regardless of what color you blog in...I'm reading
